Plastic Bottle Chair

Plastic Bottle Chair
Bottles  -->  Rope -->  Chair....
#Diychairchallenge competition submission
Personal project - June 2020
--
Inspired by #diychairchallenge curated by Nicholas Baker and Eric Trine and my previous school project of sustainable design, I decided to design a chair that would be supported by ropes made out of plastic bottles. The whole idea is to create desirable products using materials that pollute our Planet. I wanted to put an emphasis on the materials used for the joinery of the overall chair as it is the hardest to keep unique at times. You often find people using some type of glue, welds, screws, and even counterbalance but really, that's about it. This project was also inspired by Micaella Pedros' plastic joinery project which I found in Dezeen.
What you'll need!
Step 1: Make Bottle cutter!
Step 2: Make some Bottle Rope!
Step 3: Go to Home Depot! - Grab your wood / materials
You can be creative! you don't need to use wood dowels!
Step 4: Create Grooves so your materials can hug each other!
Step 5: Find any ( not in use ) Fabric! Extra Pillowcase? Duvet? Curtain?
I found an Old painting I did!
Step 6: Stitch it up! Leave holes for the Seat supports to go through...
Step 7: Tie them up!!
Step 8: RESTART!
Realize that your supports are too weak and accept that Mistakes Happen!
Step 9: Count your bottles!!...... 1, 2, 3... .  .    .     .13 bottles!
Step Ten: Enjoy!
Thank you!
